Description | Heavily loaded excursion train returning from Hull was split into two trains. Some passengers were travelling on the roof. As the front train was approaching Swinton, a coupling broke, the rear section rolled back and was hit by the second train. The victim was thrown from the roof of the train and broke his neck. |
