| Description | The 4 p.m. train from West Kirby was approaching the station at Birkenhead Park when it hit the the side of the 4.18 p.m.down train which was departing the station over the crossover connecting the up line with the down line. The victim was travelling in the brake van in a special chair and died of injuries after being thrown from her chair. |
