| Description | Pilot engine from Aviemore was going to assist a coal train going north which was making heavy weather of climbing Slochd Summit. Six wagons wagons and the brake van broke away towards Carr Bridge and hit the pilot engine coming to assist. Both the runaways and the pilot engine (14381 Loch Ericht) were derailed and the engine subsequently withdrawn. |
